In 2008 Mark Clarke embarked on a journey to visit all 85 of Britain’s historic counties and stand on the highest point of each. Over the course of four years, he walked over 500 miles and climbed over 100,000 feet, sampling all that is great about Britain along the way. His experiences are brought together in his book High Point.
Mark's journey took in Britain’s mountainous summits as well as dozens of less visited high points, facing several tough challenges including suffering a broken leg on a remote hillside in Scotland while walking alone.
His talk will showcase the delights & challenges of his adventure, its high points and its hairy moments. He will also give tips for anyone contemplating similar challenges.
