Ash is a travel writer and film-maker, whose appetite for human stories led him round the world and through several careers, including ski instructor and school science teacher. He has written for The Times, The Sunday Telegraph, BA Highlife, Evening Standard and City AM, on assignments that have taken him to Everest with wounded soldiers and to the Ganges with his father’s ashes.

He has made television for BBC Three, Channel 4 and National Geographic, joining Levison Wood on his Nile, Himalayas and Americas journeys, and on-screen for Insight TV’s On The Run. In 2014 he commissioned as an Officer in the British Army Reserve, where he serves in The Rifles. He is currently writing a book on how careers affect who we are.
